I have been meaning to try Cafe My House for the past two years. I don't know why I haven't gone yet. I guess it's just one of those things, like Ulysses or inline skating; I've wanted to, but for some reason...haven't. Anyhow, it doesn't matter, because all that changed today!

This evening my darling wife and I made the long pilgrimage south on Bank Street to Cafe My House for dinner. I won't lie, I had pretty high expectations for the place since pretty much every vegetabletarian I know has told me how yummy it is, and you know what? They were right. It was a damn yummy dinner!

We started our meal with their 'Butternut Squash & Sage Gnocchi with Basil Cashew Cream'. It was delicious! Try it! That's all I can say. For our main course, I had the 'Herbivore's Tempeh Burrito with Edamame Guacamole'. The burrito was very much to my liking and the Edamame Guacamole was an absolute lipsmacker! My wife got the 'Vegan BiBim-Bop', which she thoroughly enjoyed. In fact, she said "Mmmmm!" and "So delicious!" several times during the meal. The side dish we got was the 'Organic Tofu Steak' and for dessert we had the 'Strawberry and Basil Cake' (photo on Home Page). The Tofu Steak was terrific, and the cake was as special as it was yummy. You could really taste the basil and it complemented the strawberry perfectly; I'd definitely recommend it!

Well, there you have it. My long awaited review for Cafe My House. It was great. Everything we ate was unique, creative, and delicious. I give it two well deserved thumbs up. I'll definitely be back!
